Betty J. Workman
Betty J. Workman, 91, of Khedive, died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at home.
She was born Monday, May 28, 1923 in Whiteley Twp., the daughter of the late John Lindsey Fox and Hazel Zimmerman Fox.
Mrs. Workman was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church and also attended the Whiteley Creek Community Church in Waynesburg. She was a member of the Cumberland Twp. Farm Women for over 60 years. She enjoyed quilting and doing crossword puzzles. Mrs. Workman especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was a homemaker.
Her husband, Harry Allen Workman, Sr., whom she married on September 23, 1946 died February 25, 1952.
Surviving are one son, Harry Allen “Hank” (Linda) Workman, Jr. of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, Tina M. (Terry) White of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, Harry Eugene “Hank” (Judy) Workman, of Carmichaels, Patricia A. (Robby) Patton of Carmichaels and Rhonda L. (Charles) Porterfield-Roberts of Cokeburg; 10 great grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter; three sisters, Thelma Fletcher, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Mitilda Carter, of Carmichaels and Phyllis Thomas, of Waynesburg; three brothers, Donald Fox, of Lakewood, Ohio, Ronald Fox, of Ohio and John “Son” Fox, of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is one great grandson, Charles F. Roberts Jr.; two sisters, Dorothy Clark and Rosa Phillips and three brothers, Jim Fox, Allen Fox, and Pete Fox.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 with Rev. Keith Larson and Rev. Joseph Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.
