Mikes strong in middle quarters in 64-51 win over Avella

Leading 10-9 after the first quarter, Carmichaels outscored visiting Avella in the middle two quarters, 40-25, on its way to a 64-51 non-section victory Saturday.

Avella cut the deficit with a 17-14 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Nick Mundell led the Mikes (4-10) with a game-high 20 points. Jacob Kinsell scored 15 and Liam Shea added 14.

C.J. Norman was the top scorer for the Eagles (1-15) with 19 points.
