Carl E. Raber Jr.
Carl E. Raber Jr., 74, of Spraggs, died at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia, with his three sons by his side.
He was born May 16, 1940, in Spraggs, a son of the late Carl E. Raber Sr. and Florence J. Rogers Raber.
Mr. Raber served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, for more than 10 years. He was a retired journeyman ironworker. Mr. Raber was a member of Ironworkers Local 549 of Wheeling, West Virginia, and Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153.
He was Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Juanita Rebold Raber; three sons and their spouses, Carl Steven Raber and wife Rebecca of Waynesburg, Scott Edward Raber and wife Kirstan of Iowa Park, Texas, and Sheldon Eugene Raber and wife Andrea of Fairmont, West Virginia; two brothers and their spouses, Bernard Raber and wife Ruth of Blacksville, West Virgnia and Cecil Raber and wife Linda of Melbourne, Florida; eight grandchildren, Matthew Raber and wife Rachel, Ethan Raber, Madison Raber, Alyssa Raber, Kaitlin Raber, Lane Raber, Bregan Besedich and Colby Besedich and a great-grandchild, Kaden Besedich.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Alvin Raber and Ronald Raber Sr., and an infant daughter, Belinda Raber.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, with the Pastor James Zinn officiating. Interment will follow in Blacksville Cemetery.
