Ivy M. “Dolly” Bates, 73, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Kinder Hospital, Oakdale.

She was born June 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Russell and Ivie Bates.

On April 25, 1959, she married Donald L. Bates, who survives.

Mrs. Bates worked as an Avon representative for 25 years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Donald L. Bates Jr. of Rices Landing; four grandchildren, Jessica Lingenfield, Heather Bates, Cassie Bates and Briana Bates; and four great-grandchildren.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are four brothers, Russell Bates, Albert Bates, Simeon Bates and Lawrence Bates, and two sisters, Alice Crawford and Jenny Mercer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., Jefferson, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, with the Rev. Paul Roofner officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
