John W. McCall
John W. McCall, 76, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
He was born December 5, 1938, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles and Fehr Steinbaugh McCall.
Mr. McCall was a 1962 graduate of Waynesburg College.
He worked as a sales representative for several businesses, including Kendall Co. in Chicago, Illinois. He returned to Waynesburg in the 1970s and was hired as a borough manager. He had also served as mayor of Waynesburg. He had operated a clothing store in Waynesburg and two framing shops, including Frame-up and Gallery on High Street.
Mr. McCall was involved in various civic groups including Waynesburg Prosperous and Beautiful.
He attended First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg.
Mr. McCall was an avid gardener and had a great passion for vintage cars and flying. He played trumpet in his early years.
Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Kalsey (Ross) of Waynesburg and Emily Peel-Carroll (Jeff) of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Mary Gregory of Waynesburg; and two granddaughters.
Deceased is a brother, C. Robert McCall.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, with the Rev. William Sukolsky officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
