Bowlby Library announces upcoming events
The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg has announced the following upcoming events.
n Fall Story hours have begun. Register your infant, toddler or preschooler, children 7-12, and young adults for 10 weeks of story time fun at the library. The library is currently taking registrations for the following story hours: Preschoolers – ages 3-4, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and ages 4-5, Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.; toddlers – ages 18-35 months, Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.; young adults – ages 13 and up, Wednesday at 4 p.m.; Stories Under the Moon – ages 3-6 years, Wednesday at 5 p.m.; and Baby Lapsit – birth to 18 months, Thursday at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 724-627-9776.
n On Friday, Oct. 23, the Bowlby Public Library is hosting an After Hours Fall Festival from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be many fall-themed activities such as pumpkin bowling, bobbing for donuts and other games, crafts and snack foods for the whole family to enjoy together. n Does the ghost of Mrs. Bowlby continue to wander the stacks and stairwells of Eva K. Bowlby Public Library? The library is hosting Haunted Mansion Tours on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. With a tour guide, visitors will be led through the four floors of the library, viewing different ghastly spectacles that only appear after dark. Tours are free, but NOT recommended for children under the age of 10. Call the library for more information at 724-627-9776.
n Be Red Cross Ready! The American Red Cross is holding a Disaster Preparedness for Seniors informational session on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bowlby Public Library. Call the library at 724-627-9776 to register for this free session.
n The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library is sponsoring free American Red Cross Adult, Child and Infant CPR Certification training through the Greene County Memorial Hospital Foundation on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5 to 9 p.m. Space is limited; call the library to register at 724-627-9776.
n In celebration of National Friends of the Library Week Oct. 18-24, the Bowlby Public Library is hosting a special reception and inviting all Greene County residents to stop by on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be live entertainment, door prizes and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
n The Greene County Photography Club is having its annual display at the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library through mid-November. The public is invited to stop by the library, enjoy the talents of local photographers and vote on their favorite photographs on display.
