Lions Club selects students of the month for September

WAYNESBURG — Waynesburg Central High School seniors Brady Hogue and Celina Monica were selected by the high school faculty as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for September.

Hogue, of Waynesburg, the son of Steven and Ericka Hogue, has a 3.75 grade point average.

He is a member of the choir, ensemble, band and drama, Spanish and art clubs, and is a soccer coach and referee.

He was selected to the Honors, District and Regional Choirs and the Junior High District Band; he earned choir letterman honors; and was named president of the drama club.

Following graduation, Hogue plans to become a high school or college music teacher.

Monica, of Prosperity, the daughter of Linda and Joe Monica, has a 4.0 grade point average.

She is vice president of the Leo club and treasurer of the physics club, and a member of the National Honor Society, varsity club, Spanish club and Alpha club.

She is a four-year letterman in varsity basketball and was named to the Section IV-AA Finest Fifteen in girls basketball, and a three-year co-captain on the varsity basketball team. She received awards in English, history, accounting, Spanish and physics, and earned a 4.0 Award.

Following graduation, she plans to attend a university and major in engineering.
