Lions Club selects March Students of the Month
WAYNESBURG — Lillian Behm and Andrew Guess, seniors at Waynesburg Central High School, were selected by the faculty as the Waynesburg Lions Club Students of the Month for March.
Behm, daughter of Clay and Jennifer Behm of Waynesburg, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, serving as secretary; vice president of the senior class; and a member of the drama club, French club, chorus and the varsity soccer and track teams.
Behm plays the flute in concert and marching bands and is a flute soloist in the Pittsburgh Music Academic Chamber Orchestra. She is the first chair flautist in the concert band and is a marching band section leader. She also was selected for PMEA District Band her junior and senior years.
Outside of school, she volunteers at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, walks dogs at the Waynesburg Animal Hospital and volunteers at Greene County soccer concessions.
Behm plans to attend a four-year liberal arts college or university and major in neuroscience.
Guess, son of Kelly and Jude Guess of Holbrook, maintains a 3.80 grade-point average.
He has been a member of the school’s rifle team for four years and has achieved academic excellence awards in social studies and accounting. He received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and attended a youth leadership program.
He is a member of St. Ann Church in Waynesburg, where he is a youth altar server and a co-teacher for CCD, and he assists the Knights of Columbus at fish fry events.
Guess has applied to the electrician apprenticeship program in Pittsburgh.
