CRAFT CLASSES – The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg offers Creative Crafting for Adults classes every month. April’s project is a pallet mason jar welcome sign. Cost of materials is $15 and is due at the time of registration; the next class will be held Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. Seating is limited; register early by calling the library.

SQUARE DANCE – A square dance (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) will be held on Friday, April 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Center Township Fire Hall in Rogersville. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $7 per adult, $10 per couple and $5 for ages 12-18. Beginners are welcome, or just come and watch. CHURCH PROGRAM – The Daughters of Grace Choir will hold a program titled “Come As You Are” at Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. The program will feature scriptures and songs of redemption and forgiveness. A free-will offering will be received to benefit Deeper Still, a local ministry bringing healing to wounded hearts. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

TROUT STOCKING – Trout stocking in Marianna will be coordinated by Marianna Outdoorsmen Association on Saturday, April 9, at 9 a.m. Come have fun with a hands-on trout stocking experience. Children and adults can handle the fish and toss them into Ten Mile Creek. Over 3,500 trout will be stocked. Meet at the new handicapped accessible park area on Ten Mile Creek in Marianna. BENEFIT SHOOT – West Greene Class of 2017 will hold a benefit shoot on Saturday, April 9, at Split Rail Sporting Clays in Claysville. Proceeds will go to towards helping to cut the travel costs for more students to attend their 2017 senior class trip. Registration forms and payments from sponsors and students must be submitted to Split Rail Sporting Clays and received by April 2. For more info, call 724-663-RAIL.

HYMN SING – A “County Hymn Sing” on Sunday, April 10, beginning at 7p.m. at Pine Bank United Methodist Church. Light refreshments will be served following the hymn sing. The public is invited to attend.

LIBRARY CRAFTS – Drop in on Thursdays, April 14, 21, and 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. after school for a quick craft at the Flenniken Public Library, located at 102 E. George Street in Carmichaels. The library supplies all the materials, just bring your creativity. For more info, call 724-966-5263.

COMPUTER CLASS – A free computer class titled “Getting started with a PC” will be held on Thursday, April 14, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg. This class is for beginners who have little or no experience with a computer; students will learn basic parts of a computer, how to properly turn on and off a computer, and basic internet browsing. HAMMER-IN – The 28th annual Hammer-In will be held on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at W.A. Young & Sons Foundry and Machine Shop in Rices Landing. Free event, open to the public. Tour the century-old machine shop and foundry, watch demonstrations beginning at 9 a.m. of blacksmiths at work. An auction at 1 p.m. will host a variety of handcrafted iron work. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the foundry and machine shop, the Pittsburgh Area Artists Blacksmiths Association and the Appalachian Blacksmiths Association. Lunch and refreshments will be available for purchase from the Rices Landing Fire Department.

BULL RIDING – The Buckin’ B Cattle Company will hold its bull riding event from 8 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Greene County Fairgrounds. For more info, go to Buckin-B-Cattle-Co Facebook page or call the county’s dept. of recreation at 724-852-5323.

GRAND OPENING – The grand opening of Senior Care Greene’s new facility in the EverGreene Technology Park will be held on Thursday, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m.

COMPUTER CLASS – A free computer class titled “Using MS Word” will be held on Thursday, April 21, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg. Students will learn how to create and save documents, work with text, format characters and paragraphs, and print a document. Basic mouse and keyboarding skills are required. RAMP FESTIVAL – The 26th annual Mason-Dixon Ramp Festival will be held April 23-24 from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. The event will feature food vendors, crafters, music, ramp wine tasting, door prizes, raffles and more. DINNER SHOW – The Waynesburg Senior Center will present a dinner show on Saturday, April 23, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the East Franklin Grange on Rt. 18 south in Waynesburg. The evening will feature a spaghetti dinner with salad, bread, dessert and beverage, and entertainment by Classic Memories. Only 60 tickets available. Tickets are $15. MS WALK – The Greene/Fayette MS Walk will be held in Uniontown on Saturday, April 30 starting from the Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall. FLAG DISTRIBUTION – The Greene County Veterans Affairs office announced the distribution of American flags for 2016. For organizations, pick-up day is May 6 at the local VA office at the Ben Franklin Bldg. In downtown Waynesburg from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cemeteries need to pick up flags May 9-13 at the VA office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call the office at 724-852-5275 for more info.

RUN/WALK – The 2016 Dock-to-Lock 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Greene County summer day camp program will be held on Saturday, May 7. Race begins at 9 a.m. Mandatory registration will be held from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. at Rices Landing Fire Hall. Bus leaves promptly at 8:30 a.m. for the start line at Greene Cove Trail Head. $18 preregistration, $20 day of race. For more info, call the Dept of Rec at 724-852-5323.

SHEEP FEST – Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful’s 13th Annual Sheep and Fiber Festival will be held on Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22, at the Greene County Fairgrounds.

FARMERS’ MARKET – The Waynesburg Farmers’ Market (coordinated by Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful) will be held each Wednesday between May 18 and Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Church Street in downtown Waynesburg (alley by courthouse).
