Paul A. Crayne, age 103, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in the home of his niece in Core, West Virginia.

He was born March 12, 1913 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Harry A. and Nettie J. Lippencott Crayne.

On December 23, 1937 he married Wanita Moore Crayne, who died January 18, 2016.

Mr. Crayne retired from Penn Manufacturing in Washington where he had worked for 37 years as a lathe operator.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army, and was a member of American Legion Post 330 in Waynesburg. At the time of his death he was the oldest veteran in Greene County.

Mr. Crayne was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek.

Surviving are a son, Larry Crayne of Waynesburg; a daughter, Connie Rush of Waynesburg; two grandchildren, Brian P. Rush and Marcie Kiger, both of Waynesburg; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Kiger, Carrigan Kiger and Zachary Rush and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Donald and Herbert Crayne; and two sisters, Lillian Lippencott and Leona Henderson.

Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Earnest officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Post 330.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home.
