Joanna Moore Headley, 81, of Spraggs, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at home after a 12 year illness.

She was born Sunday, November 11, 1934 in Spraggs, a daughter of the late Arvel Moore and Myrtle Minor Moore.

Mrs. Headley was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was a member of the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. Mrs. Headley worked the Spraggs Election Board for many years, and taught Sunday School for over 20 years.

She really loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. When her health permitted, she also loved to sew. She was a homemaker.

Her husband of over 60 years, Dwight W. Headley whom she married on March 24, 1956 survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Wesley) Glaubke of Spraggs and Susan (Terry) Mason of Staunton, Virginia; one son, Douglas (SueAnn) Headley of Rices Landing; six grandchildren, Jeff (Maggie) Glaubke, Ashlea (Catlin) Buckley, Whitney Mason, Nicholas Headley, Mikalah Mason and Crosby Mason; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Buckley; two sisters, Wilma Jean Wade and Dorothy Strawn and one brother, James Moore.

Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, Mount Morris. There will be additional visitation on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the time of service at the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, 103 School Rd., Mt. Morris, with Rev. Fred Tomlinson, Rev. John Jackson and David McElroy, Amedisys Chaplain officiating. Burial will be in Fairview-Kiger Cemetery, Whiteley Twp.
