Nancy P. Wright
Nancy P. Wright, 71, of Mt. Morris went to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in her home, surrounded by family.
Though you struggled to breathe here on earth, you can breathe easy in heaven, Mom.
She was born February 21, 1945, in Kingwood, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Claude and Anna Lee.
Mrs. Wright was the former wife of the late Richard D. Wright Sr., whom she married September 30, 1961, in Waynesburg.
She was a loving mother of Yvonne (Jeff) Kurcaba of Carmichaels, Richard (Lisa) Wright of Waynesburg and Tanya “T.J.” (Carl) Wilson of Mt. Morris; cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren; adored great-grandmother of four; treasured sister of Delores Stemple of Aurora, West Virginia, Jerry Lee of Claremore, Oklahoma, Dale Lee of Charleston, West Virginia, Carl (Shirley) Lee of Coweta, Oklahoma, Carolyn Lumpkin of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Lois (John) Wills of Halifax, Virginia; extended family Loretta Shriver of Waynesburg and Helen (Max) Vernon of Milton Freewater, Oregon and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Wright leaves behind her beloved dog, Lilly.
Since her husband’s death in 1976, she raised her four children to be strong, independent and caring adults. She lead by example by conquering her fears and teaching her family nothing is impossible. She worked very hard on the family farm right along with the men, and most times, worked harder than the men. At night, she made sure her children had all her love and support. Her hands were strong enough to correct them when they did wrong, but soft enough to mend broken hearts. She helped them through all the tough times in life by encouraging them and reminding them how strong they are. She was a mom who always put her family first. She could make a meal out of nothing and made sure everyone had plenty to eat and never left her table hungry even though she would secretly do without. Her family and friends will always remember she was a kind, generous, easy-going and cheerful person, whom everybody loved.
Waiting for her in heaven, in addition to her parents and husband, are son Jeffrey S. Wright; brothers and sisters Robert Lee, Regina (Bill) Crowell, Joyce Lee, Darwain Lee and Terry Lee; and extended family David Stemple, Twila Lee, Fred Lumpkin, Chuck Shriver, Delores (Bob) Russell and Raymond (May) Wright.
