Harold Ely

Harold Ely, 81, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2016, in his home.

Born February 5, 1935, in Rogersville, he was a son of the late Raymond and Anna Morris Ely.

He was a 1952 graduate of Center Township High School.

Mr. Ely served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1957-1963.

He was a lifelong dairy and beef cattle farmer. He also drove for many years delivering bulk milk to different milk plants in Pittsburgh from various local dairy farmers.

Mr. Ely was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan; he enjoyed watching and following the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and keeping up with their lives.

The staff at Amedisys Hospice and his caregivers provided excellent care and love to Mr. Ely and his family.

Surviving are siblings Sara (Marion) Titus of Pasadena, Maryland, Bonnie (Ed) Wroten of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Richard (Sue) Ely of Rogersville, Sue (Garrett) Miller of Rogersville and Nancy (Stan Meriage) Ely of Bridgeville; 14 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are sister Jean Titus and sister Mary Lee Ely, who passed away in infancy.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, December 7, in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township.
