Jean Widdup Hunnell Hamilton Fox
Jean Widdup Hunnell Hamilton Fox, age 90, of Waynesburg, died Thursday, December 8, 2016, in Waynesburg Health Care and Rehabilitation.
She was born July 31, 1926 in Deemston, a daughter of the late John D. Widdup and Anna Jane Sproat Widdup.
She graduated from Waynesburg High School in the class of 1944.
On June 27, 1948 she married Fred Hunnell, who died on August 3, 1978. She later married William J. Hamilton and Clarence E. Fox, who are deceased.
Mrs. Fox began her career working for the South Penn Telephone Company in Waynesburg. She worked for 16 years for Mellon Bank, and also worked for Marine Midland Bank in Highland Falls, New York. From 1973 to 1980 she worked at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lippencott and had also attended the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg.
Mrs. Fox volunteered as an escort at Greene Co. Memorial Hospital and delivered meals on wheels. She was a former member of the Koal Krackin Klowns. She loved her church family, being with children, and her dogs. Her family and friends frequently received bags of her homemade cookies.
Surviving are four nieces, Pamela Stewart of Washington, Lori Widdup of Waynesburg, Renee Baker of Waynesburg and Linda Moon of Waynesburg; five nephews, Jeff Widdup of Waynesburg, Joseph Widdup of Frederick, Maryland, James Hampson of Bedford, Gary Hampson of Ridgely, West Virginia and Howard Hampson of Frederick; two half-sisters, Shelda Kendralla of Greensboro and Carolyn Brothers, of Kent, Ohio and a half-brother, Richard Widdup of Abingdon, Virgnia.
Deceased are three sisters, Ruth W. Tennent, Louise W. Jacobs and Madeline W. Hampson; two brothers, Warren Widdup and Howard Widdup; an infant son, Roger G. Hunnell and a nephew, Robert Tennant.
Friends were received from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday December 12, 2016 with Rev. Paul Roofner officiating followed by interment in Rosemont Cemetery, at Rogersville.
