The Greene County Salvation Army will host its sixth annual Golf Outing Saturday, May 21 at Greene County Country Club, located at 1044 Lippencott Road in Waynesburg.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., breakfast will be offered at 8 a.m., and there will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Registration is now open.

The Salvation Army of Greene County has a deep rooted tradition in helping others.

All funds from this tournament will be “fore others.”

Join the organization in assisting local residents in need with utilities, rent, emergency food, summer camp, holiday toy drive, winter outwear, burials, transient care and more.

The event format is a four-person scramble with an entry fee of $280 per team.

Cost includes 18 holes of golf, cart, a breakfast including donuts and beverages, and a sit-down lunch following the event including beef au jus, baked chicken, parsley potatoes, rigatoni with marinara sauce, vegetables, rolls and beverages.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and include: Tee or Green Sponsor, $50 to $100; Event Sponsor, $1,000; and Corporate Sponsor, $2,500.

Prizes will be awarded to first-place ($280) and second-place ($140) tournament winners, as well as skill prizes, silent auction, 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction and hole-in-one prizes.

Registration will be open by mail or in person at the Salvation Army Service Center through Friday, May 6.

Checks should be made payable to “The Salvation Army Greene” with “Fore Others Golf Outing” in the memo line. Participants will only be permitted to register the day of the event if there are spots available.

The Greene County Salvation Army offers a variety of services from its warehouse located at 131 W. First Street in Waynesburg.
