James A. Johnson, Jr. 92, of Waynesburg, died at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016, in the Washington Health System Greene in Waynesburg.

He was born Monday, April 16, 1923, in Brownsville, a son of the late James A. Johnson Sr. and Edna Gywnne Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. He was a member of the former Waynesburg Elks Lodge #757 having held several offices over the years. He was also a member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461, the V.F.W. Post #4793 and the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 both of Waynesburg. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army Air Corp during W.W.II. Mr. Johnson worked as a sales manager for Superior Bus Company with the coach division as well as with several R.V. companies. For 12 years he drove bus for Washington Charter Bus Company.

His wife, Marilyn Auld Johnson, whom he married on August 8, 1953, died July 7, 2010.

Surviving are one daughter, Julie Kathryn Johnson and her husband, Scott Whitman of Napa, California; and one niece and one nephew.

Deceased is one sister, Betty Conklin.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10605.
