Michael John Churney
Michael John Churney age 61 of Waynesburg died Thursday, January 14, 2016 in the Donnell House in Washington.
He was born February 9, 1954 in Waynesburg a son of Jean Clark Churney of Waynesburg and the late Albert Churney.
He was a graduate of West Virginia University.
On May 21, 1977 he married Deborah Russell Churney, who survives.
Mr. Churney was a retired special education teacher at Waynesburg Central Elementary School. He had also taught Vocational Agriculture at Central Greene High School and at University High in Morgantown, West Virginia.
He was affiliated with St. Ann Catholic Church in Waynesburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Nick Churney and Eric Churney (Kate) of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, Aubrey Churney; a brother, Al Churney of Sycamore and a sister, Barbara Churney Rush of Waynesburg.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where a blessing service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 with Rev. J. Francis Frazer officiating.
