Rosalie Sowden Weaver, 69, of Taylortown, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness.

Born August 23, 1946, in Morgantown, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Sarah “Sue” Fox Strahn.

She attended Mapletown High School, and later, after earning her licensed practical nurse degree, she worked as an LPN at MonPointe Nursing Home in Morgantown.

She was a loving and caring lady, who warmly welcomed everyone into her home.

Surviving are her former husband and companion of many years, David “Bill” Sowden Sr.; three sons and their wives, Larry and Jennifer Sowden of Bobtown, David “Bill” Jr. and Pam Sowden of Taylortown and Eric and Gina Sowden of Dilliner; a daughter, Rosalie Martin of Taylortown; six grandchildren; a sister, Leanna Bosley of Morgantown; several half brothers; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a son in infancy, Scott Anthony Sowden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
