Lady Raiders rebound with 66-43 win

The Waynesburg Central girls rebounded from a disappointing loss Thursday night with a 66-43 non-section win Friday against visiting Avella.

The Lady Raiders (7-11) had a strong start, pushing out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter. They extended the advantage to 40-17 at halftime.

The teams played to a 26-26 tie in the second half.

Waynesburg’s Kirsten Garber scored a game-high 26 points, including a career-high seven 3-pointers. Celine Monica hit five 3-pointers for 24 points, and Taylor Staley finished with season-high 12 points.

Kodi Georgetti led the Lady Eagles (8-11) with 12 points.
