Irene Policz Kachersky
Irene Policz Kachersky, age 83, of Carmichaels died February 29, 2016 in her home.
Mrs. Kachersky was born September 20, 1932 in Morgan Twp., the daughter of the late George and Julia Urban Policz.
On October 8, 1949, Irene married Nicholas Kachersky who died December 31, 2002.
Irene is survived by a son, Nicholas R. Kachersky (Eva Kolat), of Jefferson; a daughter-in-law, Donna M. Kachersky, of Rices Landing; four grandchildren, Sharna Knapp (Scott), of Carmichaels, Ashley Kachersky, of Pittsburgh, Brandy Rohrer (Keith), of Carroll Twp. and Kimberley Grimes (Jeffry), of Waynesburg; three great grandchildren, Jackson Grimes, Joel Grimes and Sebastian Kachersky; four brothers, Matthew Policz (Bertha), Frank Policz (Ronette), Andrew Policz and Richard Policz (June); four sisters, Priscilla Brown (Newt), Georganne Bogucki (Mike), Betty Haligowski and Delores Stebella and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Daniel M. Kachersky; a daughter Judith Ann Kachersky; three brothers, George, Emil and Louis Kachersky and two sisters, Dorothy Jacobs and Helen Orie are deceased.
Irene was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Carmichaels.
She worked at the Hartley Inn in Carmichaels as a waitress and manager for 30 years prior to retirement.
She loved dancing, crocheting, and baking for her family.
Friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:05 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Rebecca Dittenhafer, officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
