Arlie “Fay” Sharp
Arlie “Fay” Sharp, 92, of Waynesburg, formerly of Bridgeville, died Thursday, March 17, 2016. He was born September 25, 1923, in Shinston, West Virginia, a son of Dewey and Iva Grubb Sharp.
Mr. Sharp was the beloved husband of the late Mabel R. Sharp; loving father of Jeff (Kathi) Sharp and Ken (Janet) Sharp; uncle of Linda Hoppe and Kathy McCarthy; grandfather of 11; and great-grandfather of 20.
Deceased are a brother, Harry (Doris) Sharp, and a granddaughter, Amy Holeva.
Mr. Sharp was a life member and former chief of Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department. He served as past master of St. John’s Lodge 221, F&AM, and was a 70-year member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66.
He also served as treasurer for Fordyce United Methodist Church and the Harry Enstrom Branch of Izaak Walton League of America.
Mr. Sharp had many dear friends and neighbors who allowed him to live and die as he wished.
Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, where a service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, with the Rev. James Lewis officiating. Interment followed in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
