Choir to present United Way benefit concert
The Daughters of Grace Christian Women’s Choir will present “Home for the Holidays: Songs of Thanksgiving and Christmas” on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels.
The two-hour program is a nostalgic trip down memory lane including Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas choral selections and instrumental music, group singing and a dramatic monologue narration.
A free-will offering will be received, 100 percent of which will benefit the Greene County United Way.
Barbara Wise, Greene County United Way director, will share about the local programs currently supported by the United Way.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring new or gently-used winter coats which will be donated to our neighbors in need through a program offered by state Rep. Pam Snyder’s office.
Joining the 40 voices of the Daughters of Grace Choir will be: Carilyn Beabout, pianist; The Psalm 150 Bell Choir; Bethany May, glockenspiel; Betsy Day, flutist; and Jill Dennick, soloist and monologue actress.
The concert is free and refreshments will be served afterward.
