Civic Club selects Girls of the Month
CARMICHAELS — Caitlyn Ricco and Morgan Voithofer, seniors at Carmichaels Area High School, have been named Students of the Month for September and October, respectively, by the Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club.
Ricco, daughter of Tom and Carrie Ricco of Carmichaels, is vice president of student council, historian of the National Honor Society, drum major in the marching band and varsity captain of the cheerleading squad.
She also participates in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Quarterbacks of Life, chorus and the senior standing committee.
Outside of school, Ricco takes dance at Forth Love of Dance and attends First United Methodist Church.
Following graduation, she plans to obtain a degree in elementary education from California University of Pennsylvania.
Voithofer, daughter of Jason Voithofer and Heather Tozarcik of Carmichaels, is a member of the National Honor Society, senior standing committee, SADD, yearbook staff, band, chorus, drama club, ladies ensemble choir and is also captain of the varsity cheerleading squad.
She was named 2014 Outstanding Scholar of the Year, 2016 Outstanding Physics Student and Outstanding Spanish Student.
Outside of school, Voithofer takes voice lessons, is a member of St. Hugh’s Catholic Church, is a member and student teacher at the Center for the Performing Arts Theater Company, and was crowned the 2014 Miss Rain Day and is the 2016 Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Queen.
Voithofer plans to attend a four-year college or university to major in theater arts and business.
