COUNTY CALENDAR
CHURCH DINNER — The Hewitt Presbyterian Church in Rices Landing will be having their annual spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Nov. 5. Menu will include spaghetti with regular sauce, garlic and oil pasta and anchovy pasta. The meal also includes a salad, bread, drink and a choice of cake or pie. Adult tickets are $9 and children 3-12 years old tickets are $4. Take outs will begin at 3 p.m. and local deliveries will be from 3-4 p.m. Dine-in is from 4-7 p.m.
QUILT RAFFLE — Waynesburg Senior Quilters are holding a raffle for a hand-quilted, queen-size “Star Quilt.” Cost is $2 per ticket. The drawing will be raffled off on Nov. 16. HOLIDAY EVENT — The Social Services League’s 22nd annual Holiday Extravaganza Craft Show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Waynesburg Central Elementary School. Items at the show will be hand-crafted by many local artists. There will be a free activity room for children while you shop. Admission is a $2 donation, there is no admission for children 12 and under.
SPECIAL DINNER — The New Freeport Volunteer Fire Dept. will be holding a chicken/ham dinner and Chinese auction on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner will be held at the New Freeport Fire Hall by the Ladies Auxiliary. Cost of dinner will be $10 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under and free for children three and under.
BINGO EVENT — Vera Bradley BINGO will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Waynesburg VFW. This is a Relay for Life fundraiser by the County of Greene Team. For more info, contact Jennifer Jones, Greene Team captain, at 724-852-5678.
ELECTION DINNER — Rolling Meadows Church of God’s Women’s Ministries will hold an Election day dinner at the church, located at 595 Rolling Meadows Road in Waynesburg, on Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The dinner will be on a donation basis. Menu will include creamed chicken, biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverages. Dine in or take out. For more info, call 724-627-9430.

HOLIDAY EVENT — The Daughters of Grace Christian Women’s Choir will perform “Home for the Holidays — Songs of Thanksgiving and Christmas” on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. This concert will benefit Greene County United Way. Refreshments will be served after the performance.
SUPPORT GROUP — A support group called “You Are Not Alone” for parents and caregivers of adults and children with mental illness will be offered at Westmoreland County Community College’s Greene County campus, located at 100 Evergreene Drive, Suite 102, in Waynesburg from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Attendees will learn about services with the county and will have the opportunity to share their stories or just listen and learn from others. Light refreshments will be served.
