Thiel scored the final 13 points of the game as the Tomcats rallied for a 50-42 Presidents’ Athletic Conference victory last Saturday against visiting Waynesburg.

Mike Ryhal’s 20-yard field goal with 12:53 remaining gave the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 2-6) a 42-37 lead.

Thiel (2-4, 3-5) scored just 17 seconds later on Ryan Radke’s 44-yard scoring pass to DeShawon Bracy for a 43-42 lead. Radke added a 43-yard TD pass to Eugene Bailey, with 7:57 left.

Tyler Perone’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Ta’Vaughn Johnson 3½ minutes into the game spotted the Yellow Jackets the early lead, but touchdown runs of 5 and 18 yards by Radke gave Thiel a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.

Waynesburg surged ahead in the second quarter on Ben Cieiro’s TD runs of 3 and 26 yards and Perone’s 16-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Barnes. Radke threw a 60-yard TD pass to DeShawon Bracy and Chris Rosales made a 23-yard field goal for the Tomcats.

Waynesburg’s Whitney White scored on a 2-yard run at 10:54 of the third quarter and Ryhal made a 30-yard field goal. Thiel’s Nick Barca and Radke had TD runs of 12 and 13 yards in the third quarter.

Perone completed 26 of 51 passes for 401 yards but was intercepted twice. Johnson caught eight passes for 94 yards. Mitch Kendra had four receptions for 143 yards, and Barnes finished with six receptions for 120 yards. Ciero rushed for 74 yards.
