Edna Ruth (Moore) Henderson, 81, of Waynesburg passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 after a brief illness.

She was born October 31, 1935 in Waynesburg, the daughter of the late Helen Marie (Rhodes) Moore and Charles Kenneth (‘C K’) Moore.

On August 10, 1957, she married Robert Allen Henderson, who survives.

Except for a brief residence in Waynesburg Borough after her marriage, she resided her entire life at the family farm at Shadyside in Franklin Township.

Mrs. Henderson was a graduate with the Class of 1953 at Waynesburg High School and was an employee of First Federal Savings and Loan of Greene County, retiring as head of insurance after forty-seven years of service in 2000. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church, in Waynesburg. In addition to her work in banking, Mrs. Henderson enjoyed walking, reading, writing fiction, the theatre, traveling, bird-watching, gardening and lunching with friends. She was a longtime fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her son, Adam Robert Henderson and husband Bruce Cameron Marshall of Arlington, Virginia; a brother, Eugene (‘Gene’) Oliver Moore of Rancho Cordova, California; a son in-all-but-name, Kevin Lee Stewart and wife Tammy Lee (Foster) Stewart of Waynesburg, her best friend, Barbara Fischer of Waynesburg, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends both here and overseas.

Friends will be received from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg. Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the First Christian Church, corner of Franklin and Morris St., Waynesburg, with Pastor Scott Chambers officiating. Interment will be private.

The family suggests memorial donations to the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania, 700 North Bell Avenue, PO Box 742, Carnegie, PA 15106 or The Cancer Research Institute, 55 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
