Bryn Patton, who was crowned this year’s Miss Rain Day, loves animals.

“I feel it is important to give back,” she said. “I love all animals and want to see them given the opportunity to be happy and healthy.”

It is because of this love she has chosen the Greene County Humane Society for her individual service project and is organizing a pet supply drive to benefit the Humane Society.

Collection locations include: Direct Results, located at 185 Wade Street in Waynesburg; and three branches of First Federal Savings and Loan of Greene County — 25 E. High Street in Waynesburg, 101 W. George Street in Carmichaels and 101 Locust Avenue in Mt. Morris.

Items for the drive will be collected through Friday, Dec. 9.

Items needed include: Dog food (cans or bags) — this is a priority; the following supplies — newspapers; rugs, blankets, towels and sheets for bedding; nylon leashes; combs and brushes; cat and dog carriers and clay litter; and the following toys: ping pong balls, chew toys and fabric cat toys.
