Irene Elizabeth (Simpson) Miller
Irene Elizabeth (Simpson) Miller, age 93, Carmichaels, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Masontown, Sunday, September 9, 1923, the daughter of William Simpson and Essie (Farrier) Simpson.
She worked for years as a housekeeper for Dr. Thomas Yanchas, D.D.S. in Masontown.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James Howard Miller Sr.; siblings, Edna, twins Leo Simpson and Cleo Simpson, Agnes Drennon, Lloyd Drennon, Jim Drennon, twins Herbie Simpson and Harold Simpson, William Simpson, Marie DeFino Thompson, Charlie, Raymond, Samuel, Warren, and Betty Beauflower; three children, Rosemarie Miller, Beatrice Irene Miller and Jerome Miller.
Irene was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Rogers, Darlene Elizabeth Sharpnack, Faye Ester Miller, Thomas Edward Miller, Orville Lee Miller, Susan Dickey, James Howard Miller Jr. Roy Herbert Miller, Irene Alexander, Kathleen Bryant, and Samuel Wallace Miller and 166 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children.
The family extends a special ‘thank you’ to the staff of Senior Life in Uniontown, Pa.
Family and Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., today, October 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., the hour of the Service in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Timothy D. Tanner officiating.
Interment will follow at Greendale Cemetery, Masontown.
