Waynesburg University’s softball field named Facility of the Year
Waynesburg University’s softball team has struggled a bit this season with a 13-22-1 overall record and a 6-10 mark in the Presidents Athletic Conference.
The Yellow Jackets’ softball field picked up a big victory recently, however.
The National Softball Association of Western Pennsylvania (NSAWPA) recognized Waynesburg’s home field as the 2016 Facility of the Year.
Waynesburg University Directory of Athletics Larry Marshall accepted the award on April 5 from Sandy Sullivan, NSAWPA’s State Director for Western Pennsylvania, and Ray Sullivan, NSAWPA’s Umpire-in-Chief and West Virginia State Director.
“Waynesburg University has been privileged to host the NSAWPA for the last several years,” Marshall said.
“The Waynesburg University Showcase is an excellent time for prospective student-athletes to enjoy a university atmosphere.”
The NSAWPA holds girls fastpitch tournaments at the softball field complex every year and the 2017 Waynesburg University Showcase will be held June 23-25.
