Margaret Biddle Knight

Margaret Biddle Knight, 95, of Carmichaels, died at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at her home.
She was born April 15, 1922 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Carl Milton and Mary (Hoge) Biddle.
Mrs. Knight was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Waynesburg College. She taught in various grade schools and high schools in Washington, Greene and Fayette Counties.
Mrs. Knight resided in Cumberland Township most of her life and was a longtime member of both the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church and the Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club. She served the Lord through serving others. In her church, Mrs. Knight was a member of the Women in the Church and served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher for many years. She also delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered at the Flenniken Memorial Library.
On June 15, 1946, she married Kenneth Wayne Knight, who died August 16, 1978.
Surviving are a son, Robert Knight and his wife, Karen, of Greensburg; a daughter, Karen Sarver and her husband, Alan, of Kalamazoo, Michigan; four grandchildren, Stephanie Sarver, Bryan Sarver and his wife, Samantha, Megan Erfley and her husband, David, and Katie Knight; three great grandchildren, Bruce Allen, Claire Allen and Kendall Sarver; a sister, Priscilla McCaw-Jack of York and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother and his wife, Arthur and Marcia Biddle and two sisters and their husbands, Katherine and Kyle Nolf and Estelle and Howard Brandtonies.
There will be no public viewing and private interment will take place at Greene County Memorial Park. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Margaret’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 East Greene Street, Carmichaels. The Rev. P. Keith Larson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O.
