CTC students introduced to Challenge Program
WAYNESBURG – Students at Greene County CTC were recently introduced to The Challenge Program, Inc. during a kick-off assembly at their school.
The assembly theme was “Classroom Feud: Workplace Edition.” The game show spin-off revealed to students the right answers to the important questions for career-readiness and success both in and beyond the classroom and how to earn cash incentives.
Throughout the year, students in grades 10, 11 and 12 will be eligible to compete for financial awards in five areas linked with academic and workplace success: Attendance, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), community service, academic improvement and academic excellence.
“We are excited to once again support The Challenge Program and help raise awareness to multiple career opportunities, especially in the energy industry,” said Bill Murphy, manager, Gas Transmission Operations, Dominion Energy, in a release recently issued by Dominion. “I certainly enjoyed the chance to meet with students during the orientation assembly, hope my brief discussion about Dominion Energy got some excited about what we do and look forward to participating this year in workforce activities from which we all can benefit.”
“The Challenge Program, Inc. appreciates the partnership and support of Dominion Energy at Greene County CTC,” said Barb Grandinetti, president of The Challenge Program, Inc. “We look forward to a great year and to connecting these students with Dominion Energy to learn about the careers available within their community.”
