Robert Curtis Eddy
Robert Curtis Eddy, 89, of Pine Bank, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg, following a lingering illness.
He was born Thursday, July 26, 1928 in Brave, a son of the late Samuel Osborne Eddy and Tesse Reeves Eddy.
Mr. Eddy was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the occupation during W.W.II. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local #549. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his lawn. He also loved doing cross word puzzles, listening to country music, reading, history and watching detective mystery shows on Television. He worked for 50 years as an Iron Worker retiring in 1980. He loved being with his dog Nikkie
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janice Lemley Eddy, whom he married on November 16, 1950.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie Hull, of Waynesburg and Brenda Houser and her husband Bill, of Pine Bank; one son, Michael Eddy and his wife Dori, of Pine Bank; eight grandchildren, Scott Smith, Chad Smith, Kasey Hull, Stacey Blair, Aaron Houser, Allison Corbett, Robert Michael Eddy and Jennifer Renee Ingram; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Eddy was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased are one daughter, Marcia Jo Blair; two sisters, Beatrice Eddy and Kathleen Leonard and three brothers, Quentin O. Eddy, Thomas Eddy and Stanton Eddy.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 with Pastor Edward Hanley and Pastor Cynthia Deter officiating. Private burial will be in Pine Bank Cemetery, Pine Bank. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post #4793 and the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 both of Waynesburg.
