Rangers defeat Carmichaels, 65-56

The Mikes led 14-9 after the first quarter Friday night, but Carmichaels couldn’t hold the lead as visiting Fort Cherry opened Section 2-AA play with a 65-56 win.

The Rangers (1-0, 1-3) led 29-28 at halftime and then extended the advantage to 45-39 after three quarters.

Ryhan Culberson scored a game-high 25 points for Fort Cherry. Zach Vincenti (16), Nate Higham (11), and Thomas Hamilton (10) also finished in double figures.

Nick Mundell led the Mikes (0-1, 2-1) with 14 points. Matt Barrish scored 12 and Al Cree added 10.
