A Bentleyville man was jailed Saturday for allegedly robbing his former neighbor at gunpoint on a Greene County street just after midnight Friday.

Joseph Denzel Rhome, 19, of Bentleyville allegedly put a gun to James Teagarden’s back and demanded money on C Street.

Teagarden gave Rhome $120, according to court documents.

He told police Rhome then fled toward Teagarden Homes.

Teagarden said he was walking home from a friend’s house when he was robbed. He told police he recognized Rhome because he knew him for two years and they were neighbors, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case.

Rhome is charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, theft and receiving stolen property.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson and lodged in Greene County Prison in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 1 before Watson.
