Irvin Earl Emerson
Irvin Earl Emerson, 92, of Carmichaels went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a kind and gentle spirit.
He was born February 10, 1924 in Uniontown, the son of the late Ralph Waldo Emerson and the late Leona Rebecca (Teets) Emerson.
Irvin served in the United States Army Aircorp in WWII in England as an Aircraft Mechanic. He retired from Duquesne Light as an electrician.
Devoted to his faith, he attended John Corbly Baptist Church in Garards Fort, until his health began to fail.
On May 17, 1946, he married Virginia Lee (Johnson) Emerson at Brandsonville, West Virginia. They were married for 67 years before her death in 2013.
He is survived by two children, Nancy June Laucher (Ed), of Medina, Ohio and William Blaine Emerson (Diane), of Carmichaels; four sisters, Luella Johnson, Goldie Rosati, Sue Hawk and Frances Wolfe; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are a son, Richard Carl Emerson and seven siblings, Harold Emerson, Mildred Jean Arnold, John Emerson, Herbert Emerson, Edgar Emerson, Eva Lou Metz and George Emerson.
Family and friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Tuesday January 31, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The Funeral Service will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery. Full Military Rites accorded by Carmichaels American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign WarsPost 3491.
