Waynesburg man charged with statutory sexual assault
CARMICHAELS — A 20-year-old Waynesburg man is facing felony charges following allegations that he had sex multiple times with a 15-year-old girl.
State police said Cale Vaughn Miller was charged with one count each of statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors. He was arraigned on the charges on June 28 before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson.
According to the criminal complaint, police received a report of a statutory sexual assault that occurred on June 13 at a residence on Greene Lakes Road in Greene Township. The incident had been reported to Greene County Children and Youth Services.
The juvenile, now 16, was interviewed by police on June 21, and she reported that she and Miller had consensual sex multiple times between last November and this April at her home, when she was 15, the complaint states.
Miller told police that he would get a text message from the girl to come over, then climb through her bedroom window, and engage in sexual intercourse; he said they had sex four to five times, the complaint states.
Following his arraignment, Miller was released on unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing for the charges was initially scheduled to be held before Watson on July 10 but it has been continued until further notice. A new date has not been scheduled.
