Benjamin A. Tate
Benjamin A. Tate, 61, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, in his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born December 20, 1955, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Robert and Pearl Suttle Tate.
Mr. Tate was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He retired from John Howard Auto Sales after 20 years of service. He then worked for Walmart, until 2016.
Mr. Tate was a 20-year member of American Legion Post 330, Waynesburg.
His hobbies included fishing and working on his automobiles.
He was married to Audrey Moore Tate, who preceded him in death January 22, 2011. Together, they had two children, Jason (Amanda) Tate of Amity and Amanda (Jake) Payton of Fairview, West Virginia.
Surviving, in addition to his children, are five siblings, Donald (Patti) Tate, Betty Kelly, Edith Basile, Grace Booth and Patricia; four grandchildren, Jaden, Blake and Bryson Tate and Kaytie Payton and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are two brothers, James and William Tate, and a sister, Florence Filbey.
