COMMUNITY DINNER – A community dinner will be held in the Rogersville United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall on Friday, June 2, from 5-6:30 p.m. (Note the date change — the dinner is being held a week later than usual.) The menu will include creamed chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, corn, applesauce and dessert. Dinner is free; donations accepted. Carryout available. Everyone welcome. MUSEUM PARTY – The Greene County Historical Society Museum will host a Steampunk Garden Party on Saturday, June 3, from 5-10 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12. BENEFIT CAR SHOW – The Greene County Walk to End Alzheimer’s Benefit Car Show will be at the Carmichaels High school baseball field on Sunday, June 4, from 12-4 p.m. Free admission for spectators. Vehicle entry fees are $15 for preregistration and $20 for say event (Registration begins at 10 a.m.). Dash plaques to the first 100 cars. Awards will include People’s Choice, Best Purple Car, Old Car and Longest Distance Traveled. RUMMAGE SALE – The Hewitt Presbyterian Church in Rices Landing will hold its annual Rummage and Bake Sale in the church’s social room on Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. The church is located at 1206 Crucible Road in Rices Landing.
ANNUAL RIVERFEST – The annual Riverfest will be held at the Rices Landing lockwall on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10, from 5-11:55 p.m. both days. There will be children’s activities, craft shows, fireworks and live bands. For more info, call 724-881-8791.
BAKE SALE – A benefit bake sale will be held outside the Greene County Courthouse on Friday, June 9. Items that will be available for sale include hot dogs, creamed chicken sandwiches, veggie pizza, cabbage and noodles and various desserts. Proceeds will benefit Auxiliary of Center Twp. Volunteer Fire Department.
SQUARE DANCE – A square dance (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) on Friday, June 9, from 7-10 p.m. at the Center Township Fire Hall in Rogersville. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $7 per adult, $10 per couple or $5 for ages 12-18. Beginners welcome, or just come and watch. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. Benefits Center Twp. VBS PROGRAM – Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ruff Creek, located at 685 Washington Road in Prosperity, will hold Vacation Bible School June 11-15 from 6-8 p.m. each night. Participants will learn about the life of Daniel. There will be free fun, food, fellowship, crafts, food and games. Shuttle service available in some areas. FLOWER SHOW – Town and Country Garden Club is sponsoring a NGC Standard Flower Show, “Nursery Rhymes of Old,” at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels on Saturday, June 17, from 2 to 6 p.m. The show is open to the public and admission is free.
OPEN HOUSE – Waynesburg Community Center, located at 1505 Morris St. in Waynesburg, will host an open house and “4th of July Celebration” on Friday, June 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, popcorn, drinks, games and prizes. COLORING PROGRAM – The Eva K. Bowlby Library in Waynesburg is presenting “Color Outside the Lines,” a program for adults who may be interested in the latest craze of adult coloring books. Coloring books are not just for children. The process of coloring has been shown to be stress-reducing, calm-inducing and joy-producing, for people of all ages. The library will provide coloring sheets and supplies to get you started. Join the library weekly every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library.
CRAFT NIGHTS – The Bowlby Library’s monthly Adult Craft Night is held on the first Thursday of each month and the second Saturday each month. Seating is limited; call the library at 724-627-9776 to sign up or stop by the circulation desk.
WEIGHT SUPPORT – T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a weight management support group that meets every Saturday at the Bowlby Library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. New members are always welcome.
