Ruth Darlene Belford, age 74, of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in the Washington Hospital.

She was born October 10, 1943 in Mather, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Daugherty Belford.

She was married to Jerry Belford, who died July 9, 2011.

She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Mrs. Belford was a retired garment worker for Greenway Manufacturing in Waynesburg and Flushing Shirt Manufacturing in Jefferson. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesburg. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Waynesburg Moose Lodge.

Surviving are a daughter Hiedi Garetson of Waynesburg; a son, David Belford (Pamela) of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Garetson and Damon and Wade Belford; one brother, Mark Belford of Brunswick, Ohio; one sister, Coleen Robertson of Brunswick and her close friend and companion, Herbert Toland of Waynesburg.

Deceased are four brothers, Gary, Bill, D.A. and Tom Belford and three sisters, Linda Belford, Serena Chapman and Toots Belford.

At Mrs. Belford’s request, private arrangements are being handled by Behm Funeral Home, Waynesburg.
