Dorothy L. “GG” Leabhart, 88, of Waynesburg, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in her daughter’s home, following a brief illness, surrounded by her devoted family.

She was born October 15, 1928, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Paul and Olive Knight Hoover.

Mrs. Leabhart was a graduate of Saxton High School. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, Waynesburg. Mrs. Leabhart was an Avon sales representative for many years. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and reading, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Mrs. Leabhart lived most of her life in Canonsburg and the past 10 years in Waynesburg.

On November 20, 1948, she married Marion “Poof” Leabhart, who passed away December 23, 1999.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Marian (Donald) Shriver, with whom she made her home, James C. Leabhart of Waynesburg and Paul D. (Susan) Leabhart of McDonald; five grandchildren, Donny (Joann) Shriver, Krystal (Tim) Crouse, Lisa (Matt) Brennen, Joshua Leabhart ( Sam Turner) and Chad Leabhart; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Gerald Leabhart; two brothers, Fred and Willis Hoover and two sisters, Ruby Graffious and Alene Base.

Mrs. Leabhart was the last of her immediate family.

Friends were welcomed from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, June 24, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Chartiers Township.
