James R. Clites, age 92, of Bobtown, died Thursday, June 22, 2017, in Point Manor Nursing Home, Point Marion.

Mr. Clites was born November 6, 1924 in Everson, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Ray and Emma Jean Hinkle Clites.

On July 3, 1951, James married Darla Faye Ridenour Clites who died in 2014.

Surviving are three children, Judy Carr (Mike) of Morgantown, West Virginia, Daniel Clites of Bobtown and Mark Clites (Carol) of Newark, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ty and Tara Carr and a brother, Donald Clites (Linda) of Bobtown.

A twin sister, Betty Treece and three brothers, William, Robert and Eugene Clites are deceased.

Mr. Clites served his country in the U.S. Navy, as a Radioman in the South Pacific. He was a retired miner from the Shannopin Mine in Bobtown and a member of the U.M.W.A.

He was a member of the Bobtown United Methodist Church.

He liked to go fishing and maintain his yard.

Family and friends were received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and will be received Monday from 10 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Gail Cobb, officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
