Phyllis Jo Thomas, age 75, of Waynesburg, formerly of Catonsville, Maryland, died Sunday, June 25, 2017 in her home.

Mrs. Thomas was born September 9, 1941 in Jefferson Twp., the daughter of the late John Lindsey and Hazel Zimmerman Fox.

She was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School in 1959.

On March 10, 1961, Phyllis married Charles A. Thomas who survives.

Also surviving are two children, John Allen Thomas (Ada) of Brogue, Pennsylvania and Bryan Lee Thomas (Deborah) of Carmichaels; three grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Fletcher of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Matilda Carter of Carmichaels; three brothers, Donald Fox of Lakewood, Ohio, Ronald Fox of Strongsville, Ohio and John “Son” Fox of Carmichaels and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are six siblings, Betty Workman, Dorothy Clark, Rosa Phillips, Jim, Allen and Pete Fox.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Whitely Creek Community Church and the Cumberland Twp. Farm Women. She belonged to several bowling leagues while living in Catonsville and enjoyed sewing.

Family and friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Tuesday June 27, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11:00 a.m., the time of the service, with Pastor Joe Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Claughton Chapel Cemetery.
