A Greene County woman was killed in an alcohol-related crash on Wednesday, March 8, in Washington County, state police said.

Tanya Ann Phillips, 20, of New Freeport was the front seat passenger in a Ford Fusion that crashed on Plum Sock Road in Prosperity, Morris Township, said Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco.

Warco said the driver, Frank Finnegan Jr., 22, lost control of the vehicle and crossed over into the opposing lane of traffic, striking a pickup truck.

Warco said Phillips, who was pronounced dead about 11 p.m. at the scene, was wearing a seatbelt.

State police said Finnegan is in intensive care at a Pittsburgh hospital, and a 14-year-old back-seat passenger was taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, Michael F. Leathers, 61, of Jefferson in Greene County, was taken to Washington Hospital for injuries to his legs, police said.
