Lora Chesney
Lora Chesney, age 88, of Oakland, Maryland, formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland.
She was born January 11, 1929 in Redstone Township, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Estella L. Mickey Peters.
On July 1, 1950 she married John Chesney Sr., who died March 23, 1993.
Mrs. Chesney was a homemaker. She resided most of her life in the Clarksville area where she was a member of St. Thomas R.C. Church.
Surviving are a daughter Lisa Upole (David Sr.) of Oakland, Maryland; two sons, John Chesney Jr. (Mikki) of Clarksville and David Chesney of Sandy Plains; three grandchildren, Ashley Brooke Chesney, Loran Bowes (Ben), and Bradley Michael Thistlethwaite; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Bowes; two sisters, Irma Stoffer of Barton, Ohio and Joan Storey of Clarksville and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one brother, Charles Peters and two sisters, Lois Watson and Virginia Craig.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, where services will be held at 10 a.m. ,Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with Rev. J. Francis Frazer officiating followed by interment in Greene County Memorial Park.
