Geneva rallies for 35-14 win over Waynesburg
Waynesburg scored first, but Geneva rallied for the next three touchdowns on its way to a 35-14 Presidents’ Athletic Conference victory Saturday afternoon against the visiting Yellow Jackets.
Jeremiah Doswell-Hardrick scored on a 6-yard run at 9:42 of the first quarter for the Yellow Jackets (0-4, 0-6). Garrett Guthrie added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
Geneva roared back over the next 20 minutes to take the lead on touchdown runs of 3 and 33 yards by Trewon Marshall, and a 1-yard scoring run by Bryan Stafford.
Waynesburg’s Austin Wilson slowed the run with a 2-yard touchdown run with 1:15 remaining in the half.
But, Geneva (2-1, 3-2) put the game away in the third quarter on touchdown runs by Nick Monteleone and Collin Kendrick.
Wilson led Waynesburg with 101 yards rushing on 14 carries.
Marshall carried the ball 25 times for 170 yards rushing.
