Charles E. Dean
Charles E. Dean, age 70, of Erie, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Waynesburg, on April 29, 1947, son of Louise Pellegrini Dean and the late Clarence E. Dean.
Charles was a welder at General Electric for over 42 years. He was a die-hard Steelers fan, liked karate and his Camaro, enjoyed spending time at Shades Beach, but most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Besides his father, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Huffman Dean.
He is survived by his children, Charles A. Dean (Michelle), James E. Dean, Tiffany L. Dean and Sara L. Lewis (Andy); six grandchildren, Dustin Dean, Chelsea Dean, Isaac Dean, Deacon Steadman, Brionna Steadman, Lucy Lewis and one on the way; one great-grandson, Brody Dean; one sister, Shirley Butcher and one brother, Jack Dean.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., Erie, PA 16510 on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Wednesday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. David Roach. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
I made it home. I just wanted to let you know that I made it home. Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh, so new. I wish that you could close your eyes so you could see it too. Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand. God is taking care of me. I’m in the shelter of His hands. Here, there is no sadness, and no sorrow, and no pain. Here, there is no crying and I’ll never hurt again. Here it is so peaceful, when all the angels sing. I really have to go for now. I’ve got to try my wings.
