First Federal Savings and Loan dedicated to serving its customers
Ever since First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Greene County was founded in 1924, it has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to satisfying its customers and helping them to achieve their financial goals.
“At First Federal, we are proud to be the ‘People you know, the people you trust!'” said Liz Menhart, marketing coordinator for First Federal. “We’ve built long-lasting relationships with several generations of customers, many of whom come from the same families. Our customers can count on us for superior financial products and exceptional customer service.”
Customers can choose from a variety of personal banking services, including checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs.
In addition, First Federal Savings and Loan offers its customers several unique online banking tools.
“These days, customers are on the go and they appreciate the convenience of mobile banking,” Menhart said. “Customers can download our app onto their Apple, Android or Amazon devices and take care of transactions such as paying bills, checking account balances, viewing recent transactions and transferring money between accounts. We make it easy to do banking anytime and anywhere.”
Menhart added that Bill Pay enables customers to pay their bills online, 24 hours a day.
“With Bill Pay, customers don’t have to write checks, put stamps on envelopes or drive to the post office,” she said. “They can do all of that online. And best of all, it is free.”
First Federal Saving and Loan Association, which was originally known as Home Building and Loan Association of Greene County, was first based in the L.T. Laidly store in Carmichaels. In 1945, First Federal moved into its present location at 25 East High Street in Waynesburg.
Today, First Federal has nine locations, including offices in Waynesburg, Carmichaels, Mt. Morris, Washington, Taylorstown, Uniontown (both an office and drive-thru) and Morgantown, W.Va. (a subsidiary of First Federal that offers mortgage and home loan products only), as well as a drive-thru on Rts. 19 and 21 in Waynesburg.
Through the years, First Federal has also distinguished itself as a good community partner. For example, its Uniontown office has supported the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk and the Crime Victims Center of Fayette County, among many other causes.
As First Federal looks to the future, it hopes to build on its longstanding commitment to serving the residents of Greene, Fayette and Washington counties and beyond.
“We appreciate the relationships that we have built with so many people and businesses within our communities,” said Judi Goodwin Tanner, president and CEO of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Greene County. “And we look forward to many more years of providing personalized service and modern banking products.”
