Jason D. Korintus, 47, of Point Marion, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in his home, with his loving family by his side.

He was born April 2, 1970, in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of Timothy Korintus of Point Marion and the late Janice Cobb Korintus.

Mr. Korintus attended Point Marion Elementary School and, after reaching seventh grade, he attended Mapletown Junior/Senior High School and graduated with the Class of 1988. He then attended California University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in parks and recreation management.

Starting at a young age, he worked in the family business alongside his mother and father at Korintus Beer Distributor in Point Marion. He also worked for Greensburg Beverage as a sales representative for Miller Brewing Co. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and, after 17 years, he retired due to health problems.

Mr. Korintus was an avid sports fan and especially loved playing baseball. He was a very big fan of the Pittsburgh Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Deceased, in addition to his mother, Janice, are an uncle, Paul Korintus, and an aunt, Helen Margaret Korintus Sullenberger.

Surviving, in addition to his father, Tim, are his fiancée, Billy Jo Hugland and her children, Kayla and Joshua Cable; two uncles, John Korintus of Arizona and Kenneth Cobb of Jacksonville, Florida; two aunts, Anna Grace Korintus Gresh of Mapletown and Irene Frances Korintus Griffin of Martinsburg, West Virginia and several cousins.

Friends were received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Monday, September 18, in Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Thomas B. Rudolph, funeral director/ supervisor, 15 North Main Street, Point Marion, with the Rev. French Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Korintus’ name to brain cancer research at Allegheny General Hospital, 320 East North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, or to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 3rd Avenue, Third Floor, New York, NY 10017.
