Joyce E. Zalar, 76, of Greensboro, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at home.

She was born Tuesday, April 15, 1941 in Searights, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Joseph Bellis and Violet Ansell Bellis.

Mrs. Zalar worked as a town clerk in Stephens City, Virginia for 20 years retiring in 2003.

Her husband Charles A. Zalar, whom she married on June 27, 1993, survives.

Also surviving are one son, Thomas (Roberta) Cooper, Sr. of Isabella; one stepdaughter, Dana Berger of Wilmington, Delaware and one stepson, Charles Zalar, Jr. of Millsboro, Delaware; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are one son, Jerry F. Cooper Jr. and four brothers.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation or services. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg is in charge of arrangements.
