George Robert Dugan
George Robert “Bob” Dugan, 83, of Carmichaels, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born October 10, 1933, in Nemacolin, a son of the late John William and Mary Orrell Taylor Dugan.
Mr. Dugan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked most of his life as a steelworker at Washington Steel. He later worked as a security guard.
On June 11, 1960, he married Helen L. McNeely, who died February 25, 2014.
Mr. Dugan lived most of his life in Washington, and for the last 18 months, he made his home with his nephew and niece, Jim and Janine, in Carmichaels.
Surviving are two sisters, Donna Vavrek of Nemacolin and Carol (Herman) Bowser of Crucible.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a son, George Sherman Dugan, and two brothers, Major James Dugan and Harry Dugan.
At the request of the deceased, there was no public viewing. Interment was held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with the Rev. Thomas Fowler officiating. Military rites were accorded by the U.S. Army and South Hills Honor Guard. Arrangements were entrusted to Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
